SONY’S FUTURISTIC FLOATING HABITAT

Sony designed a prototype of floating habitat while examining people’s life at sea in 2050 when we will see different groups of people choosing to live in floating mobile houses that drift across the world’s oceans. Sony's floating mobile houses are living quarters with an engine, a cleaning filter, a sail, and stabilizers for usage at sea. When travelling, the changeable roof can be folded up to avoid the wind during a storm and then built to utilize the wind as a power source. A public space above the sea and a private space underneath it split the two-story structure. Some of Sony's floating habitat materials are made of solar panels, and they are used to provide power to those living in the houses. The generated electricity is stored as thermal energy in an energy tank holding water and maybe retrieved as electricity when required. People that live on the water in floating mobile homes can move around freely on the sea depending on the weather, tides, and time of day.
