Boundary-Layer Technologies has revealed a revolutionary totally electric ferry with foils that enable it to virtually soar across the ocean. Electra, named after the Greek Goddess of the Sea Clouds, promises to be an environmentally friendly vessel. The company's innovative hydrofoil technology and podded propulsion system contribute to this achievement. To put it another way, the foils raise the ferry up and out of the water, reducing drag and providing a completely new experience. The Electra is said to be capable of covering up to 100 nautical miles on a single charge and reaching a top speed of 40 knots. The 150 guests onboard will most likely have a pleasant ride. When compared to conventional ferries, the foiling ferry technology reduces wake and improves overall sea experience, while the battery-electric ferry propulsion reduces cabin noise by up to 20 decibels. This technology can only improve the experiences of other boats and water sports vessels.
