Discover the Best of Sri Lankan Seafood at Ministry of Crab

Ministry of Crab was established to pay tribute to Sri Lanka's celebrated lagoon crab, which has earned a reputation beyond the country's borders. The idea for Ministry of Crab originated from Chef Dharshan Munidasa's TV show featuring Sri Lankan Lagoon Crab, which led to the search for a suitable location for the restaurant. Cricketing legends Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara joined forces with Dharshan to bring the restaurant to life, and it finally opened its doors in December 2011 with the aim of celebrating local produce. The establishment is renowned for its wide array of crab dishes, featuring the crabs as the main attraction of the menu, ranging from 500g '1/2 Kilo' crab to 2KG 'Crabzilla,' prepared in several ways, including the fiery Pepper Crab, unique Garlic Chilli Crab, and succulent Baked Crab. In addition to the crabs, they showcase Sri Lanka's exquisite seafood, including the King Prawns, found in the rivers flowing across the island and the fresh Clams and Oysters from the lagoons.
