BAJA BEACH HOUSE

This vacation home celebrates both beauty and durability, as it blends in with its environment along the Mexican shore. Custom concrete walls in lifts were made to match the color of local sand, creating a unique wavy appearance that fluctuates as the light evolves throughout the day. To survive seasonal storms and hurricanes, the basic structure, concrete walls, and site orientation work together. The design reinterprets traditional Mexican courtyards and dramatic architectural designs typical of the region in a more contemporary approach, while remaining respectful to the cultural setting. The courtyard serves as the home's heart, integrating indoor and outdoor activities while framing panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The interiors offer a lively contrast with brilliant colors and strong patterns, while the building is elegant and merges in with the environment. Every last element has a sun-kissed look to it, bringing the architecture into harmony with its surroundings.
